Saray Livestock is the agricultural and livestock production company of the Kurmel Group. Operating advanced facilities in Kayseri and Adana, the company manages dairy cattle farming, beef cattle feeding, heifer development and calf rearing through a fully integrated production model. Every stage — from feed crops to raw milk, from processing to packaged dairy products — is controlled within the same value chain.
The large-scale dairy farm located in Develi, Kayseri is designed as a modern integrated complex that includes semi-open barns, maternity units, newborn calf sections, calf raising barns, heifer paddocks, milking parlors, feed kitchens and extensive feed storage areas. With a total capacity of 6,000 head, the herd consists mainly of high-yield Holstein cattle, totaling approximately 5,000 animals, of which around 1,600 are lactating cows.
The company’s primary mission is to produce high-quality dairy genetics, high-efficiency cows and premium raw milk through a sustainable and scientifically managed herd management system. All animals are monitored using digital tracking software, identification technologies and activity sensors that enhance health management and milk yield efficiency.
Together with its modern dairy processing plant located next to the farm, Saray Livestock has created a fully integrated “from farm to table” production chain under the Saray Çiftliği (Saray Farm) brand.

Dairy Cattle Operations – Develi / Kayseri
The core dairy operations of Saray Livestock are located in Develi, Kayseri, where an extensive farm campus brings together all major components of modern dairy farming. Semi-open free-stall barns, maternity units, calf huts, heifer paddocks, milking parlors and feed storage zones are all situated within the same controlled environment.
With an installed capacity of 6,000 head, the farm houses approximately 5,000 animals, primarily Holstein cattle, renowned for their high milk yield potential. Around 1,600 cows are actively lactating, while the remaining herd consists of dry cows, heifers, calves and breeding stock.
Artificial insemination is applied across the entire herd, using carefully selected genetics that improve milk yield, udder health, reproductive success and longevity. As a result, each new generation enters the dairy system with enhanced traits and improved productivity.
All barns are designed to ensure superior welfare conditions: proper bedding, ventilation, shading, cooling systems, free movement areas, high-capacity feed alleys and clean water access at every point.
Advanced Herd Management and Digital Monitoring
Saray Livestock uses state-of-the-art herd management software for real-time animal tracking. Each animal is individually identified and monitored for milk yield, daily activity, feeding behavior, reproductive cycles and health indicators.
Activity sensors worn by lactating cows ensure early detection of heat periods, health issues, mobility changes and behavioral anomalies. These systems significantly improve breeding success while ensuring herd health across the entire farm.
All veterinary treatments, vaccination schedules, calving histories and reproductive records are digitally logged, making the entire herd traceable, measurable and scientifically managed.
Calf Rearing and Young Stock Development
Saray Livestock believes that high-quality meat and milk production begins with a healthy calf. Therefore, calf rearing represents one of the most carefully managed processes on the farm.
Newborn calves are placed in sanitized individual calf hutches that provide optimal hygiene, comfort and climate protection. Their milk intake, activity levels and development are monitored daily.
Automated calf feeders supply programmed milk portions according to each calf’s nutritional needs. After the initial nursery period, calves are moved to group barns where they continue their development in species-appropriate social environments.
At around 14 months of age, heifers are bred via artificial insemination, forming the next generation of high-performance dairy cows within the Saray Livestock system.
Milking Facilities and Dairy Processing Plant
Raw milk is collected in high-capacity milking parlors designed for efficient, hygienic and rapid operation. The milking process follows strict sanitary protocols, ensuring the milk remains uncontaminated and high in quality.
Immediately after milking, raw milk is transferred to the dairy factory located directly within the same campus. This proximity allows the milk to be processed within minutes, preserving freshness, nutritional value and flavor.
The dairy plant produces a wide variety of products under the Saray Çiftliği brand, including pasteurized milk, yogurt, butter, cream and several regional cheese varieties. Modern pasteurization, fermentation and packaging technologies ensure that each product maintains the natural quality of freshly collected milk.
The uninterrupted cold chain between farm and factory is one of Saray Livestock’s strongest competitive advantages and a key factor in its commitment to food safety.
